What It Is:
In these challenging times of government shutdowns, job losses, and rising cost, many are wondering how they’ll make it through the holidays. Here’s a chance for each of us, neighbors, families, churches, businesses, and community leaders to step up and care for those who are struggling and bring hope to their doorsteps.
Our Goal
To look out for one another, to care for our neighbors in need and offer hope for better times ahead.
How It Works:
- Look Around Your Street – Think of a family, neighbor, or senior who could use a little extra help this holiday.
- Gather Thanksgiving Fixings – Purchase a turkey, canned goods, or groceries for a full Thanksgiving meal.
- Deliver With Care – Drop off the food with a warm smile, a prayer, and a word of encouragement. Be sure it’s a group effort! Take a friend, family member, or neighbor with you making deliveries.
- Follow Up – Check in after the holiday to see how they’re doing and offer continued support or friendship.
How to Join:
It’s easy to sign up! Simply visit EMPLORGCUL.COM and register to be listed as a Neighborhood Thanksgiving Watch (NTW) participant and added to the community directory.
Community safety is our primary concern. Your role is to be helpful, but always use wisdom and keep law enforcement contact information handy if needed.
We’ll help coordinate a date for group prayer and one-one-one support, and you’ll have an opportunity to share your experience and its impact on the Neighborhood Thanksgiving Watch Board
